Running around with work and chores while carrying Little Man hasn't really allowed me to sit and create more fairies,  but I've been able to create a couple of products with the three fairies I had already created. I like to create a variety of products, but truth is I can't stand sitting for too long (or standing for that matter), so I created a just a few. Below is the flash panel with the different products from the store. I love being preggers and my day job and all, but I really would like some free time and the ability to move about the house normally. LOL

I may have gone a little overboard sketching.  Besides the two inspiration boards I created on Pinterest, I had a couple of more I had already drawn out on paper.  Then, instead of choosing one, I just kept designing for a couple of them.  Now, I'm kind of stuck as to on which one I want to start with.  Grrrrr.

I don't remember exactly when it was nor who it was that got me into Pinterest.  I created a few boards and followed some people.  I actually found it to be pretty cool, although I am not quite sure how I feel about the whole copyright issue with them.  I mean, it opens the door to a lot of problems I guess, but then again the whole internet is like that if you think about it.

Anyways, when I was sketching out some designs from the things I found inspiring, I kept going through the pictures I had in my laptop.  Then I thought, 'DUH!!  Pinterest!'

I'm still working on the new fairies, but I work on them at home.  While I'm commuting to and from work, I usually study.  I've been thinking of starting to create jewelry soon.  Mostly, because I really miss my craft area.  After emptying out the guest room to convert it into a nursery, I had to rearrange it all and I'm just about done getting it back in order again.

This time when I create I want to be a little more organized.  Usually I just run free and come up with anything: be it anything I've jotted down in any of my notebooks or scraps pieces of paper or anything I come up with at the moment.

When I created what I call my "prototypes", I was very critical.  I would always seem to find something wrong with it.  My partner, who is very honest when it comes to critiquing, would give me good comments but I was never sure.  I never really shared them with anyone else because it wasn't up to certain standards.  It had to be "perfect".

That was one of the obstacles I dealt with.  Perfection.  I am not a perfectionist normally.  I try my best.  When it comes to baking I always try to improve, of course, but I wouldn't feel so frustrated when the baked goods didn't come out right (unlike I did with my accessories).  I don't understand why I judged myself differently.  It was important for me to create something that would last, so I would take my prototypes on test runs (I'm kind of clumsy so I knew if they lasted with me, they'd last with just about anyone).  Even if the item would pass the test run, I would still find a flaw.

I've been working on some new designs for Zazzle.  I wanted to do something with fairies which I love.  I used an awesome design book and learned shading and highlighting techniques which I hadn't used before.  It took me quite a while in the beginning but as I kept practicing, I got the hang of it.

As you can see, they're different types of fairies.

NE Thing for NE One.  That's how it started.  Something for everyone.  This was years ago. Sadly, due to different reasons, it never took off.  I loved the name though and it stuck with me always.

I didn't have the funds to launch what I wanted.  What was it?  Just things that I created: clothes, accessories, etc.  My own designs that I would sew or crochet.  I had no intention of starting big, or even starting "medium".  Its just that things were very tight and work took up a lot of my time.  I was never under the impression that I would do NE Things full time.  I'm still not.  Obviously, like many other designers feel, if it was possible I'd do it full time in a heartbeat, but I've always been realistic.  I was happy with it being a just part time thing.
