Matching Mother's Day Bow Ties

Tomorrow is Mother's Day.  It'll be my second officially, but my first one didn't really go as I thought, so tomorrow's kind of like a make up for the first.

I don't have anything out of the ordinary planned, but I want to hang out with Little Man.  I'm thinking breakfast picnic, lunch, and a movie (Moms Night Out seems hilarious).  Do you remember that I'm into bow ties?  Just a few hours ago I decided I wanted to make matching bow ties for tomorrow.  I wanted to use polymer clay, but everything has been put away (finally) and there was no way I was going to take everything out because nothing was going to be put away after I was done and I want to have a clean house on Mother's Day.  I want to do NO CHORES tomorrow.  So...I settled for newspaper.  I like recycling/reusing and it's fun way to decrease that newspaper pile. ;o)

Completely Forgot About National Craft Month

I'm not exactly where I'd like to be as far as my WIPs, so this is going to be a very quick post.  I caught up with some things relating to NE-Things, which is great, but I am still behind on some other stuff.  The personal matter I will be tending to for some months is not going awful or anything, but it is not going as smoothly as I thought it would either.  I have also been so preoccupied that it's almost mid-March and I just realized it's National Craft Month.  I am going to play that I knew all along and the Ínarú fixes have all been National Craft Month mini-projects.  LOL

Where's That Update?!

This will be a short post because I don't have much news to give.  It was an "interesting" week.  I have something new I have to do on a daily basis which affects my schedule a little.  I had to update it again, but I feel it flows better.  At one point it divides itself into two separate schedules because it all depends on whether the king of the house takes his nap or not.  I've tested it towards the end of last week and it works.  Today was one of those days so we didn't follow it at all.

Weekend Update - 3/1/2014

My editing program is still down, so I have had to abandon Jack & Justine for the time being. :(   I tried using one of those online programs but they leave a watermark and it's just a hassle to deal with.  Hopefully by next week my partner will be able to fix it for me.  Correction: by the week after next.  I will be out during this next week because of some personal matters I must attend to.  Because of that I won't be posting my "usual" posts.

Weekend Update - 2/22/2014

A quick catch-up on the schedule: my partner had been on vacation so we steered away from the schedule a little bit. But, so far our scheduled mornings are working out great.  It’s the afternoons and early evenings that we’re still “as it goes” with.   I don’t mind, but I need to cut out a block of time to get my own work done.  Right now, I’m just trying to squeeze work in when I can.

Weekend Update

Today is the first Saturday of the month which means I went out to a certain hardware store for a monthly activity my son has been going to since he turned one month.  Once home, I didn’t do any actual work but I took another look at what I’ve made so far for Ínarú.  I realized I don’t like the glaze.  I don’t want them matte exactly, but the glaze is too much.  I’ll probably just machine buff them.  I also am rethinking the newspaper tree silhouette.  I also want to redo the ring bands.  On the carved stone ring it’s a little wobbly and on the “kryptonite” ring it’s too wide for my taste.  (When my partner first saw it he asked if it was kryptonite.  It wasn’t meant to be so, but for the moment that’s how I’m referring to it).  Other than that, I just have to string them and they should be set to go.  After, I plan to start on the other pieces I designed.  They are a little more difficult for me as I haven't really thought about how to make them, but with my printer working, I think I can actually make them.  Fingers crossed.

New Fairy & WIPs

I finally gave my brunette fairies a background: a simple one so as to not distract from them.  I wanted to add them to Cafepress, but for some reason I am having trouble with their designer.  At first I thought it was my browser, but I tried with a different one and it just keeps freezing up on me.  I still want to stay with Zazzle, but I noticed Cafepress offers a lot of items so I want to try out with them also.  But, if I keep having the same problem, I’m not going to even bother anymore.  I’m going to give it one more try.  As I mentioned before, besides this digital design thing I like to do, I also like working with my hands.  Jewelry-making is one of the things I’ve been doing for a while.  (I think I may have mentioned it in one of the older posts from when I REALLY tried doing this thing.)
